PUBLIC ART FOR
RACIAL JUSTICE EDUCATION

BRINGING COMMUNITIES TOGETHER TO ACHIEVE RACIAL JUSTICE THROUGH ART

We commission and engage artists to create Public Art in and for each of our communities, starting first in Old Lyme and New London. Town by town, working in partnership with art schools, museums, faith communities, civic organizations and concerned citizens we hope to provide opportunities and models for community engagement through public art appropriate for each site and locality.

SISTER MURALS

OUR FIRST PROJECT

Our first initiative is the Sister Murals Project: creating two murals, one in Old Lyme and one in New London. From research to creation to use, this project brings together the small town of Old Lyme CT with it’s larger neighbor, or “sister city”, New London. Together we will transform two unused neglected spaces to create a new community space for gatherings, education, and contemplation.
