Community Building
& Advocacy Program

The PARJE Community Building & Advocacy Program is a series of talks, community-building exercises, and audience discussions taking place September 8st - October 16th, to teach audiences about racial justice and what they can do to become better community equity advocates. Public Art For Racial Justice Education (PARJE) co-sponsors this series with the NAACP Norwich. The Florence Griswold Museum, The Lyman Allyn Museum, Lyme Academy of Fine Art, and the Old Lyme PGNoyes Library will act as hosts.

These talks are part of the series Community Building & Advocacy Events - made possible by the State of Connecticut and the National Endowment for the Humanities, both of which provide significant support to Connecticut Humanities. Special thanks to The Florence Griswold Museum, The Lyman Allyn Museum, and The Old Lyme NPG Library for hosting these events.

Arts & Advocacy: Six talks designed to inform audiences on how cultural leaders have historically and are currently thinking about art as a tool for social change.

Community Engagement: four community events built off our educational talks and asking audience members to apply what they have learned directly to their communities.
